Ireland has joined the IDSF (International Dwarf Sports Federation)

The IDSF, the International Dwarf Sports Federation, is the worldwide governing body for dwarf sports. It exists to:
Encourage international sporting competition amongst dwarf athletes,
Represent the needs of dwarf athletes amongst other international sporting organizations,
Set and maintain standard rules and regulations for sports used in international competition,
Establish eligibility and profiling rules for participating athletes and
Support a World Dwarf Games every four years.

Dylan Prenderville appears on RTÉ news2day

Dylan Prenderville (13) appeared on RTÉ news2day about the upcoming World Dwarf Games in Ontario, Canada in August. Dylan is the youngest of nine athletes who will be representing team Ireland in Canada. He will be competing in swimming and team sports at the games. Dylan's eager to promote a positive image around dwarfism and believes competing at these games will do just that. Recently Dylan has been chosen by the other Irish athletes to be the flag bearer for the games which are commencing on the 4th of August 2017.

Hayley fitzsimons speaks on Newstalk 106-108FM

Hayley Fitzsimons speaks on Newstalk 106-108FM radio about the upcoming World Dwarf Games being held in Ontario, Canada this August.Over seventeen countries will be coming to participate in the games this year and over 400 athletes will be taking part. Team Ireland will be sending nine athletes this year to compete in various sports from athletics (javelin, shot putt and the discus), swimming, badminton, power lifting and more. Hayley is from Waterford where is a world champion in the javelin. In August this year she hopes to retain her title and break records.

DSAI visit to Leinster House before going to the World Dwarf Games on the 3rd of August

Members of the DSAI (Dwarf Sports Association of Ireland) visited the Leinster House on the 22nd of June 2017 to promote and showcase the Irish athletes going over to Ontario, Canada, in August. The athletes got a chance to highlight that organisation receives no state funding and everything funded to raised by the athletes themselves and friends, family.
